2010 Mileage: 2782
Well a lot has happened since I last posted and I realize I am a terrible blogger. I set off on a ride to South Carolina from New York about a month ago and made it about 500 miles in for days before the stomach bacteria I caught early in the ride caught up with me and forced us to call it quits half way through North Carolina. It was fun and a great bonding experience with Per and Luca even though I was hurting pretty bad.
We got picked up by my dad and got down to Daufuskie Island, South Carolina a couple days early to give me time to recover and I was finally feeling better by the wedding day. It was an amazing time and I am now married to an amazing woman and the love of my life. You can check out some of our photographer's pictures here. I hope everyone there enjoyed themselves as much as I did. Below is my favorite picture, and I'm sure you can guess why (and yes we did ride the tandem if you weren't there).
The wedding was then followed by five nights in Cap Cana at Secret's Sanctuary and it was an incredible (and much needed) getaway. I usually am not one to sit around and do nothing by the pool but it was really quite nice. We ate good meals, I read lots of books and we got to know the bartenders at the swim up bar pretty well. It was a gorgeous and relaxing place and I won't be surprised if we head back in the future. We did head out on one little adventure of snorkeling with sharks and sting rays followed by a booze cruise. I'll post pictures of it when they are developed.
Now I've been back to the real world fand the bike shop for over a week. Married life is great (although not much different) and I know that I'm a lucky man to have such an amazing wife who puts up with an apartment full of bikes (there are currently seven in here). I am gonna really need to kick up the mileage if I'm gonna reach my goal so we'll see what happens but after the crazy month I just went through figuring all that out is one of the last things on my mind. Thanks for reading and I am gonna try to be a better blogger.
